Join us this week for one of our worship services! In the reading from the book of Jonah, God changes his mind about punishing Nineveh for their evil ways, and Jonah is angry about this change; while in the reading from Philippians, Paul writes from prison that God is gracious and merciful, abounding in steadfast love. Then in Matthew’s Gospel reading, Jesus tells a parable about God’s generosity, challenging the common assumption that God rewards people according to what they have earned or deserve. Sunday morning worship begins at 9:00 am. For those who are unable to be with us in person, tune in to 92.5 FM Warroad for our radio worship broadcast. Watch this video for an adorable telling of the story of Jonah:
Focusing on the needs of people in times of illness and challenges, a service of healing is offered periodically at Zion Lutheran Church. The Congregational Care Committee assists with providing these services. All who are hurting and in need of healing of body, mind, or spirit are encouraged to attend for anointing, laying on of hands, and prayers.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Mt. 11:28-30
