Enlist to Serve

“God’s work. Our hands.” on Sunday, September 9

Zion Lutheran Church is hosting a special community breakfast honoring local veterans and military families on Sunday, September 9 from 8:00 to 11:00 am. Guests of honor include veterans, those in active military service, and their families.

Non-military attendees are invited to give a freewill donation with proceeds going to the Roseau County Veterans Relief Fund.

Volunteers of all ages will be needed to help in several areas. In addition to preparing and serving breakfast for the community, there will be a few other ways to show your support and love for our military personnel. We’ll be assembling some quilts, comfort boxes, and health care items to be sent to patients in the Fargo VA hospital. Also on hand will be displays of local military items on loan from the Warroad Heritage Center. Area organizations such as Roseau County Veterans Services, the American Legion, and the American Legion Auxiliary will be invited to share information about their work in the community.

We’ll be collecting new items from the list below. Look for a display in the Gathering Space at Zion with a collection box in which to place items for veterans.
