WARROAD COVID-19 DISASTER RELIEF PROGRAM

Grocery Delivery During COVID-19 Pandemic

In response to COVID-19 and Governor Walz’ Stay at Home executive order, Warroad and Doug’s Supermarket are announcing grocery delivery service in addition to the current phone-in with curbside pick-up grocery program. Delivery will be available to residents in the Warroad community only who are sheltering in place. It includes a geography west to Salol and east to Swift, north and south of Warroad, and within the city limits of Warroad. First orders will be taken the week of April 13.

Grocery orders (groceries, deli, soup) can be called in Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Call Doug’s Supermarket at 218-386-1246, extension 0 and ask for Jill. Deliveries will be made on Wednesdays and Fridays in late morning or early afternoon.

Payment arrangements need to be made between Doug’s Supermarket and the customer. Credit cards are the preferred payment method, but other arrangements can be made depending on the circumstance. Doug’s Supermarket will collect the address and phone number when the order is placed. Doug’s Supermarket will add $5.00 to each delivered order and pay that directly to the driver(s) for their service. Currently there is no charge for curbside pickup.

The drivers will follow MN Public Health COVID-19 protocol. Groceries will be left at the front door. The drivers will use gloves or hand sanitizer/disinfectant wipes when handling grocery bags. Confirmation of delivery will be made by the driver. Deliveries will only be available from Doug’s Supermarket. No exceptions will be made.

This program is being brought to the community through the support of Doug’s Supermarket, local churches, and community volunteers. Judy Landin is lead volunteer and can be reached at (218) 242-0589.
