Join us for a special day on Sunday, April 21, starting with worship at 9:00 am! We’ll welcome new members, receive a noisy offering, and have a blessing of Quilts and Kits to be sent to Lutheran World Relief, followed by a potluck brunch after the worship service. In this week’s reading from the Book of Acts, Peter is filled with the Holy Spirit so that he can proclaim salvation in Jesus’ name to the religious authorities. John writes in his first letter that Jesus’ death on our behalf is the clearest demonstration of divine love, that is the very love we share with others, not just through our words but especially through our deeds. In John’s gospel reading there is a recalling of Psalm 23. Jesus describes himself as the shepherd who cares for his sheep, willing to die for them, and he is able to overcome death for them.
Creative Works is a time where you can work on your own projects, work together on a church project, take a class on a new project, or just sit around and visit or drink a warm beverage. Come and get your creative juices flowing! The next Creative Works is on Sunday, March 15. Please bring your hobby projects (sewing, quilting, crafting, art, knitting, crocheting, traditional or online scrapbooking, or whatever!) anytime after 10:00 am. Everyone would love to see what projects you’re working on!
It’ll be a fun day at the next Creative Works at Zion on Sunday, March 15!
We’ll be “open” beginning at 10:00 and through the afternoon (until about 4:00). Everyone is welcome to attend.
This month, a featured activity/class will be offered starting at 11:00 and finishing up after lunch. (Details are below.) Of course, if you aren’t interested in the activity, you are encouraged to come and work on your own project. (No pre-registration necessary.) A lunch will be provided (freewill donation), thanks to some great volunteers!
A couple notes:
- If you are going to bring your sewing machine, iron, or another powered crafting tool, you may want to bring your own extension cord.
- A meal will be provided at 12:30 pm. A free-will offering will be taken to help cover the cost of lunch and beverages. Supper will not be served.
- You are welcome to bring a snack to share with others throughout the day.
March’s Featured Activity/Class
Spring Chalkboard Bunting/Banner with decorative paper flower

If you’re interested in getting together starting at 11:00 am 
to make a spring chalkboard bunting/banner (can be used on a bulletin board, doorway, wall, a door protected from the elements, or photo backdrop) and learn how to make a decorative paper flower, sign up at the church or email the Zion church office at zlcw@mncable.net. An example is available in the Gathering Space. Supplies will be provided, but a list of helpful tools to bring along that day will be available to you when you sign up. The cost for each participant is $20; pre-payment is appreciated. Spots are limited.
